Samvad spreads nails on the road to stop the van in which Reet is being abducted by Kunwar's aides in the December 7 episode of Mera Naam Karegi Roshan aired on Zee TV. The tyres get punctured and Samvad helps Reet escape.

At the crematorium, Kunwar gloats over the fact that he managed to defeat the Thakur. Just as he is about to light the funeral pyre, Reet arrives with Samvad and stops Kunwar. Clarifying that she had no intentions to humiliate Kunwar, Reet asserts she only wanted to honor her father's last wish. Kunwar rubbishes Reet's pleas and calls her a liar. Samvad shows Thakur's will to everyone to support Reet's claim.

Kunwar summons the family lawyer to prove Reet wrong. Fearing that his lies would be exposed, Kunwar gets his aides to bring the lawyer at gunpoint. Kunwar compels the lawyer to reveal how Reet had compelled him to manipulate the will. On hearing the accusations, Reet burst into tears and pleads with the lawyer to reveal the truth. The lawyer snatches the gun and announces that Thakur wanted Reet to light his pyre.

As Hindu rituals prohibit women from performing the funeral rites, the prospect of Reet lighting the pyre leaves everyone agitated. Kunwar hopes to cash in on the public's disapproval and asks the pandit to clarify their position. The pandit announces that Reet can light the pyre as it was the Thakur's last wish. Kunwar is forced to accept defeat. Reet lights the pyre.

Kunwar and Rajveer break all ties with Reet and walk away leaving her heartbroken.

When Reet returns home, she learns from the family lawyer that Kunwar has shifted to the new mansion and taken the whole family along. The lawyer further informs her that Kunwar has threatened to kill Reet. On asking about Kaushalya, she learns that her mother has also accompanied Kunwar on the condition that he spares Reet's life.

Reet is dejected and heartbroken. With nothing to look forward to and no one to live for, Reet decides to commit suicide after Thakur's asthi visarjan.

Jhallan apologizes to Reet for the injustice she had done to her. She admits that Reet was never Bhishma's wife but she asks her to marry Samvad. Samvad, who hears this, is shocked. Reet, on the other hand, tells her that she plans to end her life. Will Samvad manage to save Reet?
