Zee TV's upcoming primetime drama Yeh Vaada Raha explores the journey of a most unlikely duo bound together by a promise.
There's Kartik, the 19-year-old nephew of a local don and 9-year-old Survi, the daughter of an honest, upright chawl-dweller - Two people whose paths one would ordinarily not even imagine to cross, but their destinies are entwined for life on the basis of a word given by Kartik to Survi's father.
The show has an ensemble of talented actors. Playing the pivotal role of the local don's wife is the talented Rinku Karmakar, who returns to television after a gap of nearly two years. The actor who usually believes in being a spontaneous performer is busy doing her homework for this challenging role...  And it is literally 'homework' as she is working on her Marathi accent and mannerisms at home under the able tutelage of her Maharashtrian husband - noted actor Kiran Karmarkar and her in-laws.
She plays the character of Taayi  who is an immensely entertaining Maharashtrian lady, quite unlike any other seen on Indian television. She is a loud, authoritative figure who enjoys her power and maneuvers everything as per her whims.
Rinku shares ‚ÄúSince I am playing the Marathi woman for the first time, I did not want to go wrong with the accent. Above all I have been married into a Maharathrian household so they will be my biggest critics when the show goes on air. My mother-in-law was the happiest when I agreed to do the role. I can understand the language and know a few words but getting the body language, mannerisms and diction right will be a challenge for me. She adds ‚ÄúNot only the language, but draping the nine yard sari the Maharashtrian way is also an uphill task for me. As an actor it is vital to come out of one's comfort zone and surprise the viewers with different avatars to provide them with more entertainment!‚ÄĚ ¬†
Playing the lead protagonist Kartik is actor Ankush Arora while the noted child artiste Roshni Walia plays the role of Survi. Other prominent names include actors Pankaj Vishnu essaying the role of Survi's father, Shrikant and Ajay Paul who will be seen as the local don Bhau.
