If there's one bond that is very often even stronger and filled with more love and pampering than the one we share with our own mum and dad, then it would have to be the relationship we share with our grandparents! After all, haven't they at some point of time or the other in our lives, scolded our parents for coming down too heavily on us or ensuring that our every last demand is met with, no matter how whimsical it may be! And that is why most of us are deeply attached to our Dada Dadis or Nana Nanis in life.
Recognizing the fondness each of the contestants have in their hearts for the eldest members of their families, Zee TV decided it was time to announce a “Dada Dadi” special on DID L'il Masters where the grandparents of a contestant are slipped into the studio just before their act as a surprise for the kids. In cases where this wasn't possible, the contestants were connected LIVE to their grandparents all the way back in their villages through a video call. Invariably, this led to a truly heartwarming exchange that left most people present on the sets fighting back tears!

In this delightful episode, the tiniest boy contestant Jeet Das of Kolkata dolled up like Katrina Kaif rocked the stage with the song Chikni Chameli and gave the gorgeous actress a run for her money with his phataka facial expressions! Seeing that he'd just lost his front milk teeth, host Jay Bhanushali couldn't help but pick up Jeet and say that the l'il one makes for the “cutest, toothless Chameli” in the world. His mother, seated in the audience, revealed that Jeet's grandpa who was not able to come down for the episode, was extremely proud of Jeet and was tuning in to every single episode.

When young Faisal Khan from Mumbai used his cap as a prop and maneuvered it stylishly on and around his head, Master Marzi said, “I strongly believe that the Topi was born for just two purposes – one to stay put on Himesh's head and the other purpose is to dance with you!” With Faisal dancing to his Nani's favorite song 'Dil Kya Kare Jab Kisise …', his nani seated in the audience was overwhelmed and revealed that she'd brought him and the crew of the show a huge helping of Faisal's favorite Kheer! Without batting an eyelid, Mithun da declared that the dessert better come to the Grandmaster first! Amusingly enough, once the kheer was placed in front of Dada, he very cutely forgot all about the fact that a shot was still on. He loved the kheer so much that he kept lapping it up like a cat until the crew began staring at each other, wondering if they should stop the cameras and let him comfortably get done with the hogging. At the end of it, it was the kheer that got Mithun Da's trademark “Kya Baat, Kya Baat, Kya Baat!” before Faisal did.

L'il Tanay Malhara's grandparents, who had come all the way from his hometown Jalgaon, were the most sporting. While grandpa revealed that he used to sing Dilip Kumar- Vyjanthimala's classic 'Ude Jab Jab Zulfein Teri' to appease his angry wife, the director insisted on his singing it to her in the studio. No sooner did Grandpa finish his cute rendition of the song, than Grandma shyly professed on national television, “Aho, I love you!” Shalini from Kolkata, who performed a very heart-wrenching act with a rocking chair for her late grandfather, was choked with emotion at the end of the act and her mother had to rush to the stage to pacify her. Her act, being technically brilliant apart from expressive and evocative, Shalini received a standing ovation. Geeta Ma, once again, showed her maturity and sensitivity by retaining her own composure and choosing to comment only on the dance and not on its emotional aspects as the girl chid was already in tears and she did not wish to stoke her emotions any further and aggravate her outburst.

All in all, the beauty of this special episode lies in its ability to showcase the lighter, fun-filled moments as well as the depth of the attachment children feel towards their grandparents. Stay tuned to the Grandparents special episode of Knorr Soupy Noodles DID L'il Masters powered by LR active on Saturday, July 14 at 9 PM, only on Zee TV.
