Akshay Smashes 3 Cups on the sets of Star Ya Rockstar!

Akshay Kumar isn't called a Khiladi for nothing... if reports from the sets of Zee TV's Star Ya Rockstar are anything to go by, looks like the man has his own 'rugged' way of expressing his appreciation too. Recently, at the shoot of the latest episode of Zee TV's celebrity singing reality show, Akshay made quite a smashing impact when he passionately hurled 3 cups to the floor in quick succession. No, he didn't do this in a fit of rage, nor did he do it playfully in the course of a 'cup fight'. He wildly smashed 3 cups because he was completely blown away by actor Sumeet Raghavan's performance to his favorite song from his own film Namastey London - 'Main Jahaan Rahun'.

Akshay and John Abraham had landed up on the sets of the popular reality show to promote their upcoming film, Desi Boyz. While he was in a mood for fun and frolic for the most part, Akshay was overwhelmed with emotion when Sumeet sang 'Main Jahaan Rahun' with complete sincerity, soul and impeccable vocal finesse. Not only did Akshay go up on stage and join Sumeet in a duet performance of the same song, he applauded Sumeet in his own inimitable andaaz. Elaborating on his unusual manner, Akshay explained, "In certain European countries, it's a tradition to break plates to express one's support or appreciation or to applaud a great performance. While I saw no plates around me, my eyes landed up on the mugs in front of me, and I couldn't control the temptation to smash them! Sumeet's performance was simply outstanding..."

Akshay was clearly not the only one overwhelmed on the sets that day. Sumeet's wife Chaitanya fought back tears on seeing this entire episode unfold in front of her eyes. For a woman who has literally worshipped Akshay Kumar, it was a dream come true to see her own husband receive such glowing words of praise and tea cups smashed in his favor by her own idol. She revealed, "I am crazy about Akshay to the extent that I take delight in the fact that my son was born on the same day as his son, Aarav- 15th September. I have watched all his movies, his shows and I am so proud of the fact that he loved Sumeet's act so much!"
